How often is the weather data updated?

Weather data is updated every 5 minutes using Open Meteo API. Our system fetches the latest conditions automatically, ensuring you always have the most current information for planning your ski day. You can also manually refresh the data on the resorts page.

How accurate is the weather information?

We use Open Meteo, a professional-grade weather API that provides highly accurate forecasts based on multiple meteorological models. The data includes current conditions and 7-day forecasts with hourly granularity. However, mountain weather can change rapidly, so we recommend checking conditions on the day of your visit.

Which ski resorts are included on Skimap?

Currently, Skimap covers 24 major South Tyrolean ski resorts including Kronplatz (Plan de Corones), Val Gardena / Gröden, Alta Badia, Alpe di Siusi / Seiser Alm, Solda / Sulden, and 3 Zinnen Dolomites. We're continuously expanding our coverage to include more resorts in the region.

How do I plan my trip using Skimap?

Start by browsing the resorts on our interactive map or viewing the complete list on the Resorts page. Click on any resort to see detailed information including current weather, 7-day forecast, ski pass prices, operating hours, and trail maps. Use this information to compare conditions and choose the perfect resort for your skill level and preferences.

Can I suggest a resort to add to Skimap?

Is Skimap free to use?

Where does the resort information come from?

Resort details such as ski pass prices, operating hours, elevation data, and trail maps are sourced from official resort websites and verified data sources. We strive to keep this information accurate and up-to-date, but we recommend confirming critical details directly with the resort before your visit.

Can I see historical weather data?

Currently, Skimap focuses on real-time and forecast weather data to help you plan upcoming ski days. Historical weather data is not available at this time, but we're considering adding this feature based on user interest.
